Writing Poetry

I’ve written several (over 60) poems and a handful of songs. I enjoy doing this and would like to combine them all to create a small book or an album. But, don’t I have to be copyrighted? I just don’t know where to start and don’t have the knowledge to get where I want to go. HELP?

I’ve been writing poetry since i was in junior high and i’m now in my 30’s. I have @200 poems and i’ve always been told i should get them published but I have no clue where 2 start going about that! I’ve often heard about publishing scams where a so called publisher will ask you 2 send $ along w/ what ever it is you’re wanting 2 have published so please don’t refer me 2 one that will cost me any $ 2 get started!

I have been scammed I really want to send some poems to some legitimate publishers.

I’m writing poetry but until now, I’ve never published my works. I would like to know what the most possible and advantageous strategy would be: should I contact a publisher, post my works on my blog on Internet or self-publish a book that I then try to sell on my own? I don’t have hundreds of poems ready and since they all follow the same pattern creating a wholeness, I wouldn’t really like the idea of publishing just a few of them on internet (since I don’t think I could then publish them later on in a book). Because of the way they’ve been written, I would like to publish them all together since they are not separate but really consolidate each other. I would also like to know where to find someone to give feedback on poetry. Publishers hardly comment on works they are not intending to publish. Thank you for any piece of advice in advance!

I want to enter some poems into competitions but cant find any in australia. Does anyone know of any and how I can enter? Thanks

I’m looking for a venue to publish a few poems that I don’t have to pay out in order to submit. I’m not looking to get paid, although that would be a bonus, I’m just looking for some exposure.

my friend and i are really into writting poetry and we’d like to publish it, but we’re minors and dont know anyone that could help us, what do you think should we do?

btw do you think if i put up some of my poems here for people to read them and tell me whats wrong, if i ever publish them ill have problems if someone just takes them or something or since i wrote them first i could prove it?
